Ski Patrol and Search & Rescue
Counseling Program
In March of 2022, WIA, YCCF, and Timothy Tate LCPC, formed a partnership to provide expanded mental and behavioral health support for Big Sky Resort Ski Patrollers. The partnership was formed in response to the loss of Shawn Orloff, a Big Sky Ski Patroller who took his own life in November of 2021.The program was created to provide extended care and counseling beyond the immediate services provided to the Big Sky Ski Patrol Team.
With additional funding from Greater Gallatin United Way, WIA and Tate expanded the program to provide affordable access to Big Sky Resort Ski Patrol, Yellowstone Club Ski Patrol, and Big Sky Search & Rescue.
Individual sessions operate on a "pay what you can" scale from $5 - $30 per session.
If you are a ski patroller or search & rescue responder and you wish to work with Timothy Tate call him at (406) 586-8158.
